Welcome to Sapulpa Main Street

Preserving Sapulpa's Historic Charm

preserving our past and promoting our future.

Sapulpa enthusiasts take great pride in downtown’s beautiful old buildings, many dating back to the early 1900s. These vintage structures give the central core a truly special character, one celebrated as a protected district on the National Register of Historic Places. Preserving our nine-plus blocks of architectural treasures is important to us. That’s why Sapulpa Main Street provides a variety of resources available to help our downtown property owners and merchants with building repairs and restoration efforts. As part of the National Main Street program, we have several tools at our disposal:

  • We offer building and location analysis for those thinking of setting up shop or expanding in downtown Sapulpa. We compare a property investor’s portfolio goals or a business owner’s operating needs to our district inventory to propose best-fit solutions benefiting everyone involved. We may connect inquirers to real estate brokers who know the Sapulpa market and can help them maximize their opportunities.
  • We offer regular training and advice on successful business practices to help our partners build profitable operations. We value this as the best short- and long-term method to achieve our district’s sustainability and historic preservation goals.
  • We sponsor events that celebrate this historic environment and generate business in and for our beloved downtown.
  • We connect partners to financial planners, architects, interior designers, contractors, and many other professionals to help them start on remodeling, repair, and restoration/preservation projects.
  • We provide training and instruction on government laws and regulations. We serve as a liaison between property/business owners and federal, state, and local regulators and government officials/bodies. We lobby for the rights and needs of property/business owners at federal, state, and local levels.
  • We assist building and business owners seeking to apply for federal, state, and local historic tax-credit, preservation, and rehabilitation financing programs. We help our partners research and learn about available programs and their different options, requirements, and applications.
  • We set aside a limited amount of our own funds each year for façade grants to aid applicants trying to make repairs, clean up existing or deteriorated building faces, and/or preserve the historic exterior of their sites.

We also keep an active eye on our downtown’s short- and long-term needs, approaching potential commercial, professional, nonprofit, and governmental tenants who could bolster downtown Sapulpa with a move here while gaining bottom-line benefits from our many blessings and opportunities.
